Event Coordinator? Why, that’s me!

Hello there, long lost blogging world!

I can’t believe I haven’t posted in almost five months!
Life can certainly get busy and change – and quickly, too!

Did you notice the new subject on my About Me Bio? Event Coordinator??
My new title is not a self-given one due to starting my own company – Rather, I have been employed as the sole Event coordinator for an amazing property in the Texas Hill Country!

Coincidentally, this same exact ranch was formerly owned by my family for over 100 years and was originally put together by my great-grandfather bartering and buying up small tracts of land to  make the large property that it is today. This ranch is where I spent most of my childhood- the oak trees that I look out to from my office window, are the same ones I used to easter egg hunt in as a child. The building they call the ‘shop’, was my grandfather’s prized Angora goat barn, and where I spent countless hours bottle feeding orphaned baby goats with my grandparents, siblings, and cousins. To say that working on this property is sentimental to me, is a huge understatement. My heart swells up with joy as I drive onto the property each morning- the trees and landscape are the same, with the addition of dozens of exotic species and grand buildings being the only unfamiliarities.

The amazing place I now get to call ‘work’ is The Ox Ranch.

With my African background and knowledge of the species, I end up speaking with many clients about their hunting inquiries, although with our recent venue listing on theknot.com, I am receiving countless wedding and events inquiries lately.

From our styled bridal shoot in May 2016.

We are in the process of making an event venue unlike one ever seen before. Situated on a secluded 18,000 acres of prime Texas Hill Country, our venue provides the ultimate atmosphere for any Ranch or Safari themed wedding.

Over 40 native and exotic species freely roam The Ox Ranch, with our friendly Giraffe, Zebra, and Kangaroo being photo favorites. Our truly beautiful Live Oak Creek, rolling and abundant hills, collection of military tanks and weapons, thousands of animals, in-house chef, organic vegetable garden, producing jersey cow, orchard, beehives, acres upon acres of water, ample activities from spelunking in our caves to using our skeet range, rustic decor with luxurious flair, and ample southern charm, are just some of the aspects that make The Ox Ranch one of the most pristine destinations in the world.

We do have several aspects of the venue side of our property still under construction, with an estimated final completion date of April 2017. Once all is said and done, we will have a log chapel, bridal suite, and honeymoon suite set atop one of the tallest hills in the county, and a free-standing hand-hewn log reception pavilion, as an addition to our already-in-use 6,000 square foot dual-story entertainment lodge and 7 luxury antique log cabins that are situated along the lakefront of our spring-fed creek. We will also have individual cabin accommodation specifically dedicated for use by our wedding guests, with the capacity of sleeping over 100 on-site.

Other in-construction additions include a brewery, gym, bowling alley, beach walk-in pool, and ‘blue hole’ cabin sleeping up to 20 guests… that is, until we put more on the drawing board. :)

…yes, you read that right up there, we do have military tanks that drive and fire. We have the only Sherman Tank in the world that can still fire its 76mm round, as well as a German Leopard, Tracked Abbott, British Chieftain, and Russian T-34, along with several artillery pieces. We have so much, that i’ll have to do another blog post just on our tanks! But in the meantime, you can find out more information at www.drivetanks.com.

There are many exciting things happening here on a daily basis, and I am excited to keep you updated!

Until next time! (And I promise it won’t be five months!)
